We are excited to welcome two new physicians to the Ross Eye Institute team. Dr. Prabhu specializes in providing comprehensive care for childhood ocular problems and Dr. Diaconita’s focus is vitreoretinal surgery and medicine. Both physicians are now seeing new patients.

Shreya Prabhu, MD
Clinical Assistant Professor
Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus
Dr. Shreya Prabhu is a clinical assistant professor with the Department of Ophthalmology at the Ross Eye Institute. She graduated medical school at Boston University and then went on to complete residency at the renowned Kellogg Eye Center at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan where she also served as a chief resident.
Dr. Prabhu specializes in providing comprehensive care for childhood ocular problems. She is excited to care for the children and families of Western New York.

Vlad Diaconita, MD
Clinical Assistant Professor
Vitreoretinal Specialist
Dr. Diaconita completed a five-year residency program in Ophthalmology followed by a two-year surgical retina fellowship at Columbia University. He is double-board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
Dr. Diaconita has been recognized with awards and grants as a medical educator, researcher and has been a panelist and speaker at national and international conferences. He is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Retinal Surgeons, Canadian Ophthalmology Society, Canadian Retina Society, VitBuckle Society as well as other national and international groups.
